Upminster M1 5-0 Bury M1
Bury travelled away on a cold afternoon to play second place Upminster. As usual, Bury started slowly, allowing Upminster to dictate play and limit Bury to very few chances early on. Upminster used this control of the ball to take a 1-0 lead and continue to put Bury under pressure. Max Chapman then collided with the biggest of the Upminster defenders sending him to the ground shouting out in pain with Chapman receiving a 10 minute yellow for his efforts. With a man down, Bury promptly conceded 3 more leaving them 4-0 behind and still 3 minutes to play with only 10 men in the second half.
As the second half began, Bury decided they did want to have some of the ball and started to create some chances. Upminster still managed to score a 5th however. This got Bury playing better than ever and inspired keeper Henry Wallace to attempt to later clear the ball through the head of captain Ollie Whiteman, who bravely fell to the floor like a sack of potatoes only to continue playing. Bury went on to dominate the last 30 minutes of the game penning Upminster into their own 25 but still unable to convert. The best of the chances came from a short corner struck by player and coach Nik Ciappi, which was seen to be too high as it crossed the line by the umpire. The game ended with a frustrating 5-0 loss for Bury.
