Bury just fall short in thriller

Bury set out on a mission to redeem themselves after a tough away day last week, hosting the Hertfordshire blokes that had given them a tight loss earlier in the season.
A late and nonsinging Mr Whiteman arrived with the first bobble hat of the season (would’ve been handy a few weeks ago). However, the team were disappointed to find out that El Capitano is a little tease and does not wish for others to own such a commodity. As he stated previously “you will have them by August”, so that is when we can expect to have warm heads.
Bury lined up with a structurally sound team that put intense pressure on St Albans. Bury looked sharp but were unable to capitalise with an early lead and got punished by St Albans who scored from a short corner. Despite this, Bury were looking like they could get back into the game. Kingo (who was not hung over, thus not quite his 100% self) was running all over the place, trying to impress the women in his life. Speaking of TCT, he was having a lovely time practising his 1v1s with the St Albans forwards.
Sullivan, who since his knock a few weeks ago is too scared to play in defence, was making some lovely runs up and down the wing, balancing his counterpart on the right Harpur who was crossing some clean balls across the face on the goal.
With the return of the youngsters, Ando, Walshy and Hugh the front line was kinetic to say the least. With the recently returned Walshy equalising minutes before half-time there was a chance for a comeback.
Following a spurring talk from manager, Dog, and a reminder from Mr Whiteman that we had to continue to stay positive, the boys rushed onto the pitch for the second half (having to run down the clock with Ando still serving 40 seconds in the sin bin).
However, St Albans got a second quick lead, adding another to it with an unfortunate penalty flick call.
Despite these goals, Henry kept Bury in it with some cat-like saves throughout the match.
Burty looked like they could get back into the game through short corners but were unable to convert. This was until someone had the genius idea of letting Mr Whiteman have a drag flick, which floated into the goal. No need to run to the halfway line for a call from Dog, just give it to Ollie every week from now on.
At least, we think he scored but since no one brought it up after the game, there was uncertainty amongst the team.
With not long left in the game Bury were pushing for a third goal, hoping to give the spectators something to cheer about.
But with two minutes to go, Jonesy was forced to make a professional foul, resulting in him getting the cheese slice shown and securing DOD in the process.
Despite losing the performance was far greater than the previous week, so that was something POSITIVE for gang.
Good game by all, but man of the match went to Henry Wallace for his matrix like saves.
Onwards and upwards
