Bury began incredibly strongly from the offset, slotting balls swiftly in-between the ipswich team, and after only 2 minutes Izzy Johnson smoothly deflected the ball into the bottom corner of the goal allowing bury to gain an early head start. With great determination and energy the team continued to weave through ipswich, however their defence was able to hold off our advances and make a break towards their attacking half which resulted in a sequence of defensive short corners. Bury remained strong and although down our normal centre back, both the defence and keeper Lucy Gunson were able to prevent any goals. In minute 23 bury gained a short corner, the ball was flown to Liv Hyndman for her to send soaring into the left corner resulting in burys 2nd goal.
Shortly after the second half had begun, bury was able to secure their lead with a 3rd goal. Some good linking play allowed Izzy to enter the D and send the ball in, claiming her 2nd goal of the match. Both teams remained strong for the next 15 minutes but bury made a great attacking break as Lilia Payne charged through the pitch and launched the ball into the top left corner with a highly impressive reverse hit, resulting in a 4-0 win for Bury and Izzy Johnson receiving player of the match.
