A final match to secure promotion to the East Premier League.

 The league winning Bury side wanted to finish on a high against visitors Cambridge South setting off at pace the Bury side dominated but were yet to convert. With great determination several opportunities were made but the score line was opened by Dominique Dyball who was fed the ball through a narrow gap by the talented Izzy Johnson.

The visitors were keen to fight back and with that came a bouncing ball into the Bury goal just before half time, surprising the Bury side.

All to play for in the second half but the Bury side took the challenge in their stride and converted a second goal scored by Georgianna Coote from a well worked penalty corner. The home side capitalised on their lead shortly after by another slick passage of play with Heather Dunand connecting from a Dominique Dyball reverse stick cross.

Still hustling Cambridge South were eager to narrow the gap. One of the Bury defence was rather swift in the short corner run out and got penalised for early running, resulting in a re-run of the corner. Cambridge South made sure the ball hit the back of the net beginning to put pressure on the home side. But not for long, as Bury upgraded an attack in the opposing ‘D’ to win themselves a penalty corner. Coote scored a belter from a well rehearsed short corner routine to make the final score 4-2.

Bury Ladies 1st XI now look to forward to promotion next season in the East Premier League, after what has been a thrilling season. This phenomenal team has won 20 of their 22 matches, drawing one and only losing one game all season.
