Our ladies 2s hosted City of Peterborough with a game that offered a chance for some points.
First half began with Bury holding a brilliant press, keeping play constantly at the Peterborough defence. Caris Gregory took on the keeper from open play to score on the reverse. Continued good attacking play and chances of short corners awarded for both sides, taking the half time score to Bury 2s 1-0 City of Peterborough
Heading out for the second half both teams remained strong with just one goal in it. A goal line save from Sinead Collins kept the Bury team afloat. A perfectly timed through ball from Lauren Turner to Caris Gregory gave her a second time to work it around the keeper and across the line. Some end-to-end play kept the game exciting with breaks of play for Peterborough; Katie Slark-Hollis working hard to intercept and redistribute the ball and Libby Ong running constantly up front to create chances. An overloaded D made it impossible for the Bury attack to convert again so a change of tactics from Caris Gregory dropped the ball out to find Lauren Turner at the top of the D to smash the ball top bins. This brought the final Score to Bury 2s 3-0 City of Peterborough
