Bury opened the scoring early with quick passes between Libby Ong and Caris Gregory in the D for Caris Gregory to tuck it behind the keeper and over the goal line.
Cambridge were then relentless in their attack being awarded many short corners two of which they converted.
A lucky strike from the Cambridge player found the smallest of gaps to hit the post and go in.
A competitive diving save by keeper Bea Woodruff was penalised to allow Cambridge to gain from a penalty stroke.

Second half started with Bury on the attack. Strong balls out from Sinead Collins in defence found the Bury attackers for multiple assaults. Bury’s Amy Morris converted a short corner with a deceptive sweep.
A yellow card was given for a hard tackle to Katie Slarks-Hollis to leave Bury a player down for part of the time. Cambridge continued to be awarded short corners but Bury’s defensive kept them out.
Bury continued their push until the final whistle with Katie Bedford and Emma taBrett holding the middle.
