The mens over 50's overcame Norwich Dragons quite convincingly by 3 - 0 in Norwich on Sunday afternoon.
It was a much better performance than in the previous round. After an awful display of temper deciding what colour socks to wear, the team soon got into the rhythm which was so lacking before. We dominated from the outset and after three minutes Jem Allen found the back of the net. We continued to press, chances came and went, but we were always on the front foot. Just before half time an excellent move at a short corner allowed Mark Dykes to fire in our second goal.
The game was more or less secured when three minutes into the second half, after another short corner, Robert Dyball found himself unmarked and slotted the ball home. As expected Norwich fought back but the defence held secure and we ran out worthy winners.
Thanks and well done to everyone who participated; it was a brilliant team effort.
The next round is on Sunday January 20th.....we should know opponents and venue by Thursday - details to be updated.
