On a cold, windy and wet day the U10 girls made their debut on the Regional Stage and acquitted themselves extremely well! They started with a 0-0 draw against Norwich Dragons, and followed this with another 0-0 draw v Canterbury, the tournament favourite. In both matches our girls were the dominant team and very unfortunate for the ball not to cross the goal line, despite excellent attempts by Henrietta Croot, Isobel Dutton and Libby Stacey. After a break the girls lost their mojo a bit and lost 2 matches 1-0, first one was a scramble in front of the goal with Beth Miller, the GK, unable to kick the ball out with too many feet and sticks in front of her the ball and it bumbled across the line. The second match an unfortunate short corner decision by the umpire gave St Albans a chance to score, a bit of mis-hit spin curved the ball around Beth. Millie Cooper in defence did her very best to keep St Albans away from our goal, again girls in attack were unlucky their didn't manage to score. The determination in the final match to show everyone what a good team they've become over the season, saw first Isobel Dutton score 1-0, followed quite quickly by another goal from captain Henrietta Croot.
The girls finished in a very credible 5th place and should be very proud of themselves.
Well done to all involved, special mention to Justin Adams for his coaching.
