Defeated

Bury entered the game needing to win, and if results elsewhere went their way, it was possible for them to win the league. Things started slowly and Bury fell behind after seven minutes. However, two quick goals (both set up by Nik Ciappi) from Alex Bibby and Owen Grisby edged them ahead. A further goal from Alex Bibby before half time, this time assisted by Josh Skillern put them 3-1 up, although Dereham responded immediately to go to half time at 3-2.

Two minutes in to the second half, Dereham equalised and ten minutes later they stunned the large home crowd by scoring again to take the lead. Bury had chances but could not take them - a penalty stroke was saved and the game finished 4-3 to the visitors meaning Bury's title dream was over, albeit promotion to division one had been secured. Incidentally, Cambridge South 1 won their game later in the day to secure the title so a big well done to them.
