England LX O75 Team Captain John Grinham, who first started at Bury St Edmunds Hockey Club in 1975, did a great job leading his team to victory at the International Grand Masters Hockey Festival a few weeks ago!
In John’s words: “We had a great squad and the weather was kind to us all week. We played 6 full games in 7 days, winning 6 out of the 7, scoring 18 goals and conceding only 2. We played teams from Australia, Germany, Holland, Wales, Belgium and Alliance, winning the league by 3 clear points ahead of the Dutch”. Team manager Gillian stopped the squad getting too many cards and kept them cool with buckets of iced water!
Also there from the club were Robert Dyball and Ian Konrath who both played for the England LX O60s team.
