Hopefully you’ve at least heard some whispers around the club about our new incentive, Bury Larks. Here is our latest update!

1. Why have we started Larks?

We’ve set up Bury Larks to encourage local schools and children to “Pick Up a Stick” and to rejuvenate the Nowton Park Astro in the middle of Bury. We want everyone to have the opportunity to play hockey in a fun and inclusive environment!

By getting more people playing hockey in West Suffolk we’ll increase the profile around the sport, drive investment and ultimately offer new and existing players more opportunities!

2. How can new players get involved?

We’ll start by running regular after school skills and training sessions for 7 – 15 year-olds on Tuesday evenings in the summer term, with more hockey on Thursdays in the second half of term. These start on Tuesday April 29th.

There are free taster sessions on Tuesday April 22nd, Thursday April 24th & Thursday May 1st.

Our coaches can also visit schools to run taster sessions for pupils during the summer term. Just let us know if a school you’re associated with is interested!
