On Friday the 2nd of February Bury Hockey Club hosted England Hockey Coach Developer Sam Beveridge who ran a bespoke course for our coaching team. This focused on areas of development that the coaches had previously highlighted to us.

The workshop allowed coaches to participate in several activities to develop new skills and improve how they currently coach our players. Topics included:
• The dynamic warm-up
• Breakout skills zones
• Coaching large and small groups

The benefits of this course were not only to learn more about coaching and delivering sessions, it was also a fantastic opportunity for our coaches to share best practice with one another and build a cohesive way of coaching across all levels of the club.

Out coaches have already fed back how useful this season was. We very much look forward to the next one.

We are looking for more people to join our coaching team, next season. You don’t have to have any coaching experience, support and training will be available to you.
