Men’s 3’s travelled to Watton on a bitterly cold afternoon. With both teams coming out of the blocks and some end to end early action Bury began to get in to their stride, unfortunately this did not continue with constant stoppages, this played on the minds of both teams and was unpleasant for both. It was Bury who took the lead with Captain Paul Whiting knocking one out of the park Babe Ruth would have been proud of launching the deflected ball in to the roof of the net. Watton managed to peck one back before half time against the run of play. With players at boiling point the half time team talk calmed things down and Bury began to rise again. Felix Jones slotted home a sublime short corner only for it to be ruled out. Determined to put the game to bed Felix Jones slotted home Burys second with Paul Calver quickly making it three. Debutant Archie Reynolds finished the game off with a calm pass past the helpless goalie to win 4-1.
