Ladies 2s leave it to the final minute

The ladies 2s were away at Newmarket; the game started in glorious sunshine with competitive hockey from the start. There were chances at both ends and short corners that neither team were able to convert. A flash of pace from Caris Gregory in the 33rd minute dribbled the ball to the top of the D for a beautifully hit goal in the bottom corner, taking the half time score to 1-0 to Bury.

The second half continued with the even play; but with a downpour of rain to trouble both sides. A short corner strike from Lauren Turner bounced off the post. An opportunist pass from the middle, and a lapse of focus from Bury defenders allowed a hidden attacker to get the ball around the keeper, Sophie Williams at minute 16.
