The first half didn't quite go to plan; a green on debut for Tilly Heath, and a 10 minute yellow for Gail Parkins put Bury under a lot of pressure, conceding two early goals to Kettering. Not quite the start the L2s needed to maintain their position mid-table. After a lot of possession and pressure, goals from Libby Ong and Claire Brooke took the score to 2-2 at half time and the game was still there for the taking.
After a harsh team-talk at the break, Bury came out fighting before Kettering were awarded a second flick; successfully converted past keeper Bea Woodroof giving them the lead. Thankfully this gave the L2s the will to win and shortly after, Susie James scored for Bury from open play. Then came short corners from Kettering being shown yellow, and in quick succession, one a piece from Libby Ong and Claire Brooke were converted in well worked short corner routines. After a hard fight from Bury, they were rewarded with a well earned 5-3 win! Player of the match was shared between Tilly Heath, Libby Ong and Claire Brooke.
