Tough game

Bury started the game well, pushing IES into their own half for about 15 minutes, not being able to break the press of Mazz Chapman, Libby Ong and Katie Slark-Hollis. Unfortunately for Bury, they were just unlucky not to get the final touch on what could have been a handful of goals. One quick break from IES led to a short corner which, deflected by Lauren Turner, bounced in the air with IES batting it into the net and taking the lead at the break.
Determined to convert what had been about 75% of the possession and territory, Bury came out fighting, again pinning IES back. Good transfers round the back worked the ball up the field towards Jen Dahl who put the ball on a plate for Susie James, who swept the ball across the D, leveling the scores. Another quick break from IES saw a 1v1 with their forward and Sophie Williams, who was unfortunate not to make the save. Shortly before the end, Libby Ong took a ball to the face, and determined to win something with her loss, the L2s fought for the last ten minutes, again unfortunate not to convert. Final score 2-1 loss, and best wishes to Libby after the nasty injury.
