A good win away for Bury 2s

Bury L2s travelled across to Wisbech after a run of tough losses putting them 10th in the table. With a team talk asking for fun from everyone and no expectations, Bury started the game well. Having most of the possession and plenty of time in Wisbech's 23, the only thing not happening was goals. Wisbech had a couple of quick breaks but these were quickly intercepted by Sinead Collins, Gail Parkins and Amy Morris and counter-attacks meant that Bury were very quickly back in a good position. With chances at short corners, Wisbech were good at scramble defence and prevented any goals. Half time 0-0.

A happy captain led a positive team talk, and the second half started much as the first did. Great leading runs from Libby Ong, Anna Ong and Henrietta Croot up front gave Bury plenty of chances in the Wisbech D. More short corner opportunities came and Bury finally found the back of the net off an Anna Ong deflection.

Finally finding a goal only helped the team to continue the pressure, constantly intercepting Wisbech balls and resulted in another PC, this time converted by Sinead Collins from the top of the D. Missing many normal 2s players, the rest of the team massively stepped up to get a 2-0 win away from home. Lots of Player of the Match nominations throughout the team but ultimately shared by Libby Ong and Henrietta Croot.
