A tough day with some good takeaways

The sun was finally out with a lovely breeze and we were feeling positive after an upbeat musical warm up. Our optimism was soon to fade as our usual balls across the pitch and up the wings were intercepted over and over. It was soon clear the Bury team were feeling the effects of Thursday's hard fought game against Bury 2s. Framlingham had an excellent press and fought hard, with many early attacks at our goal, keeping the defence busy and keeper Kerry Woods on her toes. After several saved attempts, Framligham finally broke from the 25 and along the back line into the D sneaking the ball into the corner of the goal. We continued to work hard and had a few good runs up the wings, however Framlinghams defence kept us at bay. Framlingham continued to push and on a day where decisions were not going our way, 2 more goals followed before half time. The half time team talk saw a change in formation and whilst it would have been easy for Bury 3s to have given in, we showed true resilience and came back out fighting. The second half was far more positive with more opportunities up the pitch, however it was Framlingham who managed to score again with their excellent press keeping the ball their end. Bury finally got a well earned break with a fantastic short corner with the ball slipped left from Julie Dunger and swept into the goal by Issy Snell. At the end of the day, Bury fought hard and kept their heads held high throughout what was a tough game from many aspects.
