A bright start from Bury against Colchester had them seeing the majority of the possession.
A few missed Bury opportunities was punctuated by Colchester showing their strength to counterattack, fortunately they weren’t able to capitalise on those.
The first half ended with Bury one goal up after a superlative run by Cheryl Bosman down the right and around the back of Colchester’s defence along the line which resulted in a very well taken goal (Cheryl seemed the most shocked by this).
The second half was much of the same, very few clear opportunities by either side with Bex Selway controlling the midfield and Claire Jefferies- Wilson standing strong in the defence.
With only one goal to the good Colchester scored late into the second half to level the match resulting in a disappointing draw and allowing Sudbury to jump above Bury in the league on goal difference.
