After a first half of few chances with Drey Mangwende standing strong in defence clearly frustrating a well organised team. Immy Grove, Sophie Johnson, Holly Dryland & Helena Fellingham were the biggest threat with strong runs but Bury were unable to find the final pass to unlock Ipswich’s strong defense with first half ending in a nil-nil stalemate.

The second half went pretty much the same way, with Tilly Heath clearing the goal line from a number of short corners but ultimately Ipswich, with some debate of foul play, managed to find the back of the goal to take the lead. And there it stayed until the last minute, Bury standing strong, defending well against the short corner but unable to find that final pass, when Bury won a short. A well taken short saw Izzy Snell powerfully putting the ball into the bottom corner of the Ipswich goal only for it not to be given, adjudged to have been just outside the D (by the smallest of margins); the final whistle sounding only moments later.

A strong team defensive performance exemplified by Drey winning MoM for her outstanding steadfastness and determination ultimately felt a little deflated over the thought of what could have been.
