Bury U10 boys played the Suffolk round of the in2 Hockey at Tuddenham Road hosted by Ipswich
The first game was always likely to be the hardest against a strong Felixstowe team. Bury dominated early pressure with Bastow and Prentice exploiting the wings. Prentice was rewarded with a well taken reverse stick shot. Bury were unable to build on their lead and gave away possession unnecessarily at times. Felixstowe continued to push and scored with the last hit of the game.
The second game was against Ipswich - Bury played more composed hockey and began to move the ball around well with Bastow scoring a hat-trick from some well worked passing moves involving Harrington and Rake in midfield. Solid defensive play from Konrath, Ciappi and Allston at the back prevented chances and took the game away from the opposition.
The final game against IES saw the boys play some excellent hockey with Prentice running the ball down the wing and crossing the ball well to Harrington and Bastow who both scored some lovely well worked goals.
Bury were the champions on goal difference proceeding with Felixstowe to the regional round later in the year.
Thanks to all parents and supporters who braved the relatively un-pleasant conditions.
Again, the club is extremely proud of you all - well played boys.
