Boys beat Bedford

Despite it being cold and windy on the Bedford pitch, the U14 boys turned up the heat on their opponents. After a shaky first few minutes, the team found their feet and started passing the ball around, comfortably passing and outpacing the home team. It took a while before the ball found the back of the net, Will Daniel scoring the first team goal of the season. Bedford was lucky to have a short corner awarded from which they equalised just before half time, Nikolaj Winter in goal managed to save the few attempts from Bedford. The second half Bury started focussed and on a mission to score more goals, Guy Salisbury, Henry Green, Will Daniel and Lucas Nicolai running into the D with Ben Smart always ready to try and score. Three goals, scored by Ben Smart, Guy Salisbury and Henry Green followed in quick succession before Bedford managed to score a second goal. The midfield and defensive line of Henry Derbyshire, Max Chapman, Sam Slark-Hollis and Josh Golding did a sterling job disrupting the Bedford forwards and allowed them only few attempts at goal. Bury’s second half goalie Max Woods produced some great saves to keep Bedford at 2 goals, whilst Ben and Henry managed to score 2 more for Bury. End result a resounding 6-2 win.
