Saturday saw the return of Felixstowe’s 2nd Ladies team to the Sanfield pitch, this time coming up against our Ladies 6s/development team.

The game started with lots of intensity, with Felixstowe making a few early attempts on goal, only to be met by the strong central defence of Mel Podd, Adele Newberry and GK Katie Huddart.

Bury made some promising breaks through Felixstowe’s holding midfield, with Fran Clear and Idunn Holmefjord Phillips pushing the ball forward. Their efforts reaped no reward however.

Isabella Kent made her debut game for the team, and proved herself a valuable player in the midfield, joined also by the speedy Jasmine Kemp-Reynolds, who returned for her second game with the team. Oi-Wa Whitmore, Flo Bartram and Sophia Bartram worked tirelessly on the wings to repeatedly win the ball back from the opposition, pressing hard and linking some lovely passes.

Ultimately, despite tireless defending on the pitch and penalty corners by Ali Bailey, Lizzy Bartram, Jo Hudson, Roxy Jones and Emily Denney, Felixstowe 2s walked away with a 7-0 win.

Player of the Match went to Goalkeeper Katie Huddart for some incredible saves, and tireless efforts.

Still lots of great hockey was played. The 6s will be away taking on Ipswich 5s next week.
